General Information about Riverton
Parts of the Salt Lake Valley was settled in the mid 1850’s. It wasn’t until about 90 years later when the city of Riverton Utah was established. Since 2000, population has gone up by over 50% to 38,955, with houses in Riverton keeping up at 10,499. Renters have increased to 10% of the population and median income has increased to $80,726. Temperatures average a high of 94 degrees in the summer and a low if 23 degrees in the winter.
Riverton celebrates community involvement and offers many classes for all ages. From cooking to hunter’s safety, there are several choices to consider. The Riverton Community Theater and Metropolitan Orchestra both perform often and are constructed of community members. An arts festival is held each year and includes the talents of artists, bands, crafters and dancers. Riverton Town Days is also held each year in the summer and invites the community to gather for a parade, a 10K fun run, craft booths, a demolition derby and more. Some of the surrounding cities are: South Jordan, Bluffdale, Bingham, Herriman, Draper, and West Jordan.
Real Estate in Riverton saw a big increase for a few years, but has been decreasing more recently.
